‘Serious violation’: GGPoker bans two players after incident in flagship event

Posted on December 5, 2025December 8, 2025

On Thursday, November 13, GGPoker announced that two players had been banned from the site following an account-sharing violation which was detected during the GGMillion$ event.

‘Serious violation’ GGPoker bans two players after incident in flagship event poker news

The GGPoker security team identified the breach of conduct prior to the event’s final table on November 11 and “took immediate action to protect the integrity of the competition.”

Account-sharing – often times referred to within the poker community as ‘ghosting’ – is a form of cheating that violates GGPoker’s Security and Ecology Policy. From the site’s perspective, account-sharing and ghosting “undermine competitive integrity.”

GGPoker also stated: “When one player competes under another’s account, it creates unfair advantages and damages trust in the game. We will not allow this on our platform.”

How it happened

On November 9, 2025, the GGPoker security team identified the account known as ‘Hinaru’ as being operated by a player other than the account owner during Day 1 of the GGMillion$ tournament.

While the foul play was identified early, ‘Hinaru’ continued to play as the site awaited confirmation of its findings and went on to reach the final table of the event – as the chip leader, no less.

In addition, GGPoker informed its users that the person who was unfairly operating the ‘Hinaru’ account has also been blocked and permanently banned. Both players are permanently barred from GGPoker and all of its affiliated platforms.

$115,752.22 will be redistributed to affected players in accordance with GGPoker’s reconciliation policy.

Transparency a clear priority

This is not the only cheating incident in recent GGMillion$ history.

GGPoker shared the following remarks in closing:

“Account sharing and ghosting are serious violations with permanent consequences. Players who attempt to circumvent our rules will be caught and removed from our platform and affiliated partners”.
